The Truth About Titanium Dioxide





Titanium Dioxide, a naturally occurring white mineral mainly sourced from ilmenite ore, is a common ingredient found in powder-based makeup and more naturally formulated sunscreens. It acts as a whitener, opacifier, and, in suncare, as UV filter. But, in the past few years, it has also been at the center of a controversy, with critics and defendants debating on its safety.

We employ Titanium Dioxide in some of our products while leaving it out in others. So, after receiving emails from our customers who wondered why this may be the case; and whether the talked-about ingredient was ultimately safe or not, we decided to explain how we use titanium dioxide so that it is safe AND makes you and the makeup look more beautiful because of its presence (or intentional lack there of):
